Chrysler Halcyon Concept: A Glimpse into the Future of Electrified Mobility

The Chrysler Halcyon Concept has been introduced as an indication of the brand's journey towards a fully electric future. This concept vehicle showcases an integration of sustainable design with cutting-edge technology, aiming to deliver a seamless and personalized driving experience. With the unveiling of the Halcyon Concept, Chrysler reinforces its promise to the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 plan, emphasizing electrification and a significant reduction in carbon footprint across its operations.

Design: Simplified, Streamlined, and Sculptural

The Chrysler Halcyon Concept is built on the STLA Large platform, embodying a vision of aerodynamic efficiency and minimalist exterior design. The vehicle features a dramatic, sculptural styling, starting with a low-slung front that enhances its aerodynamic capabilities. Innovations such as a front air blade for improved BEV range, and adaptive LED headlamps, underscore the concept's focus on performance and functionality. The use of recycled metals for the exterior, along with functional aerodynamic elements like the side aero blades, emphasizes Chrysler's commitment to sustainability. The vehicle also introduces an acrylic-tinted butterfly-hinged canopy, offering easy access while enhancing the vehicle's streamlined design.

Powertrains and Performance: Electrified and Efficient

The Halcyon Concept is a beacon of Chrysler's electrification strategy, featuring advanced electric powertrain technologies. This includes the utilization of Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer (DWPT) technology for wireless recharging, potentially offering unlimited range capabilities. The concept explores the use of lithium-sulfur EV batteries, promising a 60% lower carbon footprint compared to current leading batteries. This aligns with Stellantis' ambition to lead in the development of efficient propulsion systems, contributing to a substantial reduction in global carbon emissions.

Technologies: Seamless Connectivity and Advanced Autonomy

Inside, the Halcyon Concept presents an immersive and sustainable interior, utilizing 95% sustainable materials. The cockpit is highlighted by a pillar-to-pillar transparent display and augmented-reality HUD, offering a wide range of information while minimizing distractions. The integration of Stellantis' STLA Brain, SmartCockpit, and AutoDrive technologies ensures a connected and intuitive user experience. Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities, such as Stargazing Mode, complement the driving experience with options for both engaged driving and relaxed autonomy. Predictive navigation and personalized settings via the vehicle's AI system demonstrate Chrysler's focus on creating a seamless and future-proofed digital environment.

“The Chrysler Halcyon Concept creates a level of serenity that fully represents the Halcyon name. The Halcyon showcases innovative and sustainable mobility solutions that embrace technology and offer value to customers while delivering Harmony in Motion,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO – Stellantis. “The Chrysler Halcyon Concept brings to life a fully electric tomorrow through new technology suites from Stellantis that integrate with simple and pure aerodynamic design and a seamless, connected and immersive cockpit experience.”
